Opportunity International is a global nonprofit working to end extreme poverty. We give small loans, training, and support to people living on less than $2 per day so that they can grow their businesses and send their kids to school. We’ve worked in developing countries for 50 years, empowering millions of small business owners, farmers, and educators. OI provides a hand up approach, rather than a handout. Opportunity responds to Jesus Christ’s call to love and serve the poor. We seek to emulate the “Good Samaritan” whose compassion crossed ethnic groups and religions and aims to serve the more difficult places where others cannot.
