EMPOWER A CHILD TO RISE TO HER GOD-GIVEN POTENTIAL

CHILDREN RISING is an Oakland nonprofit partnering with under-resourced Oakland public schools to provide life-changing, one-on-one reading and math tutoring for second-grade children who cannot read or count. Church volunteers have tutored these children for more than ten years at various elementary schools in Oakland. Due to COVID, 80% of second-grade children living in our lowest-income neighborhoods are now testing at kindergarten level for reading and math skills.

$25 provides half of a family literacy kit that includes guided use of phonics tools, sight words & children’s books.
