Congo Initiative: Help a child or women receive counseling services
$15
Congo Initiative (CI) is a global fellowship led by Congolese vision and united for the transformation of lives and communities in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). As the second largest country located in the heart of the continent, the Democratic Republic of Congo has the potential to lead Africa’s renewal. But oppressive socio-political forces acting within and upon Congo over the last two centuries have given rise to poor leadership and traumatized people, vulnerable and fragmented communities, and corrupt and unjust systems. Just over the past three years, close to 3,000 people have been killed and hundreds of thousands displaced due to armed conflict.
Our core catalyst of change is the Université Chrétienne Bilingue du Congo (CI-UCBC) and its community engagement initiatives. These initiatives focus on children and women who are disproportionately affected by these realities, often facing barriers to education and resources needed to break cycles of violence and poverty. Through primary education initiatives, children learn to see a future full of hope. Through counseling services, those internally displaced and traumatized receive the psychosocial support and care they need to experience healing and renewal.
$15 helps a child or woman receive counseling services.
